The City of Melbourne has partnered with ZapCat, a certified social enterprise, to help local residents reduce their energy bills by finding a better energy plan.
Through this free program, you can securely connect your energy usage data in under 2 minutes to see which plans could save you money based on your actual usage. You can also explore greener energy options if reducing emissions is a priority, and get help to switch providers. Find out more about how we collect and use your data.
If you’d prefer more support, you can book a free virtual consultation with an energy advisor.
All advice is free, independent, and funded by the City of Melbourne. The program is available for apartments, houses, and small businesses, and is suitable for both owners and renters. All energy plan advice is provided by ZapCat. City of Melbourne does not endorse any energy retailers or plans.

Australia needs to rapidly accelerate its transition to clean energy if we are to curb the worst effects of climate change. Our mission is to make it as simple as possible for ordinary Australians to transition their homes to clean energy.
How we collect and use your data
We collect your personal information to provide energy plan comparisons and switching support. This includes collecting data directly from you and, with your consent, from your energy retailer via Fiskil under the Consumer Data Right. Your data is stored by ZapCat, Fiskil and by Zoho as our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform.
If you do not provide this information, we may not be able to provide the service. We may share limited contact details with the City of Melbourne for program evaluation if you agree.
