About the Program
Through this Council-funded program, ZapCat provides free, independent advice to residents on energy efficiency and electrification. Where possible, residents will be referred to local businesses, keeping jobs and economic benefits in the community.
ZapCat is looking for businesses in the Inner West LGA who supply and install one or more of the following:
- Solar panels and batteries
- Hot water heat pumps
- Electric vehicle chargers
- Induction and electric cooktops
- Reverse cycle air conditioning
- Insulation and draught proofing
- Apartment block electrification, including apartment solar and EV charging
There are no lead fees or commissions — only qualified, interested households from the local area will be referred.
To ensure quality for residents, all businesses are vetted by ZapCat for licensing, insurances, pricing, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction. Please note: while the Council has subscribed to ZapCat’s advisory service, it does not directly vet or endorse installers.
To be prioritised in the first round of applications please complete the application form by 22 August 2025. The program will launch on 1 September 2025, although applications will still be accepted after that date.
